Sunny holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education at Gumi University in South Korea in 1998, and a bachelor’s degree in Jazz and Contemporary music from Seoul Digital University. Her professional experience began at a young age when she served as the pianist at her church in high school. Over the years, Sunny has accumulated experience through teaching private lessons, playing in church bands and by founding her own music academy. Since moving to Texas 12 years ago, she’s taken courses in music keyboard through Austin Community College and taught all kinds of music by supervising the Bridge International Christian Academy choir as a choir director for 5 years. She was also the accompanist at Round Rock Korean Presbyterian Church for 7 years and New Hope First Baptist Church for 6 years.

Teaching music has always been a huge passion of Sunny’s and she loves seeing students improve their skills as they learn. She believes that kindness, patience and sincerity are essential in educating children, and continues to implement those strengths in her teaching philosophy. In her free time, Sunny loves digital art and runs her own business art account on Instagram called @ARTVIASUN. Sunny has two children studying at the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M.
